How to change Gmail password
Gmail uses Google Account credentials to authenticate and log you in. Basically Google account is the same as Gmail account. Passwords are the same too.You will need to know your current password to be able to change Gmail password to something different.
If you don't remember your current Gmail password you might still be able to change it if you remember the answer to the security question that was set on your account when you registered it.
There are other emergency recovery methods if you don't remember your current Gmail password or security question associated with your Gmail account. We cover the emergency cases lower down on this page.
